La “lectura” de material tan peculiar no ofrece pega siendo los cuatro protagonistas, músicos curtidos en la dura batalla de la noche jazzística. Es este un jazz flamenco (?) sobrio y honesto como corresponde a un corredor de fondo como Javier Denis.

  * Diez años llevaba Javier Denis sin pisar un estudio para grabar su propia música, un largo periodo de tiempo aprovechado por este saxofonista para, como él mismo afirma, evolucionar como músico. Un proceso que, al igual que ocurre con los buenos vinos, lleva su tiempo, aunque tras descorchar y paladear este "Largo Camino” uno se da cuenta en seguida de que la larga espera ha merecido la pena. Sin duda alguna, "Largo Camino” deja con ganas de escuchar más música de este Andalusí Trío; sólo cabe esperar y rogar a Javier Denis que no tarde tanto tiempo en grabarla.

  * Por fin nos llega un nuevo material de este del jazz andaluz y malagueño con el disco "Largo Camino" de la mano de Javier Denis y en el que militan además dos de nuestros puntales rítmicos: Baldo Martínez y Carlos González 'Sir Charles', un magnífico acompañamiento que el saxofonista sabe rentabilizar en este largo camino que incluye sentencias post-bop y reflexiones andalusíes. Asimismo, recupera el aliento de vientos venerables como John Coltrane y Ornette Coleman. Un saxofonista del sur con todos los nortes al que ya se le echaba de menos.
